Dr. Khaila Davis, DDS General Dentist & MSc Candidate

Dr. Khaila Davis attended the University of the West Indies where she graduated with her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2015. She then went on to undertake an internship, throughout which she rotated through various specialty clinics to hone her skills. Upon successful completion of her internship, Dr. Davis worked under the guidance of senior dentists at two private practices. In addition, she returned to the U.W.I where she worked as a Teaching Assistant, helping pre-clinical students gain the skills required to enhance their ability to treat patients during their clinical years.
Dr. Davis quickly realised that her passion was rooted in the subspecialty of Prosthodontics. Through her work in practice under the guidance of the Consultant Prosthodontist, she recognized that there was a need for Maxillofacial Prosthetists in her country, Trinidad and Tobago and throughout the Caribbean and so, she became determined to supply that demand.
Dr. Davis is currently still practicing privately and is a part-time clinical instructor at the U.W.I all while pursuing an MSc. in Maxillofacial Prosthetic Rehabilitation through King’s College London. There she is trained by top specialists in the field throughout the United Kingdom in treating patients with missing eyes, ears, noses, parts of the jaw and larger parts of the face. Additionally, she is learning about provision of prosthesis to replace the nipple, finger and toes. Upon successful completion of this degree, it is her hope that she can treat patients requiring rehabilitation from congenital or acquired facial defects with high quality lifelike prostheses. Her aim is to provide patients with comfortable, affordable, quality care throughout the Caribbean.
